With the Eclipse Awards now in the rear view we can officially turn the page to an all-new chapter in the wonderful world of Thoroughbred horse racing. Several things that happened last year means 2015 should fall right in there with my blog…a must read!
Of course we are starting to think Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks because that is a given. The West coast again appears to be loaded with prime contenders for glory on the first weekend in May, but the East will also feature it’s fair share of big names when the road that leads to Louisville widens in the coming weeks. The general public is always consumed with those chasing the blanket of Roses, but the handicap divisions will also peak some interest this go round. Reason being, more of the recognizable names in the sport are staying on the track in 2015. Of course there will be some defections as the year progresses, but right now, the next 12 months are filled with a ton of promise. California Chrome of course tops the list, but how about Shared Belief, Bayern, Tonalist, Wicked Strong, Ride On Curlin, and Wise Dan just to name a few.
So, with the nation’s most popular sport (football) drawing to a close, it is time to tune in to some four-legged gladiators cause the excitement should be plentiful!
