BAFFERT PLAYS CASEY JONES IN DUBAI
Wait a minute… what is that thundering down the tracks of the Thoroughbred racing world?… Looks like a big blue locomotive. Four-year old sensation Arrogate put on a miraculous performance in winning the $10 million Dubai World Cup on March 25. After breaking poorly in a field of 14, the long-striding son of Unbridled’s Song surprised even his hall of fame conditioner, Bob Baffert, by winning the race going away. Once the uniquely marked colt got rolling in the stretch, no one was going to catch him. Having engineered a fabulous four race win streak in graded company since August of 2016, Arrogate has responded beautifully to the masterful training hand of Baffert and to the instruction of hall of fame jockey Mike Smith. Special athletes like this do not pass through all the time. As a veteran of the game, Baffert understood before the race this was a train to ride. After that performance, everybody else wants to ride the big blue locomotive too!
