1. Hanging with top Thoroughbreds like The Player, a Buff Bradley trained Kentucky bred always makes me feel like a winner!
2. The Bob Baffert barn at Churchill Downs just exudes success. You can see from the signs why he is one of the most successful trainers in the game.
3. California based trainer Peter Miller got his first two Breeders’ Cup wins in the same day at Del Mar in 2017. Big day for him and glad I got to hang with him to toast his success!

6. I love the West coast and the racing it offers. Del Mar and Santa Anita are some of the most fantastic places on earth. There are winners out there and remember…may the horse be with you!

10. The beauty of Santa Anita Park is simply breathtaking. As the sun comes up over the San Gabriel Mountains we know a new day is dawning at the great race place.
11. California Chrome is one of my all-time favorites. I got to feed him a peppermint and saw him flat put on a show in the 2016 Pacific Classic at Del Mar. Now that is a daily double!
12. Rick Pitino is not only a great basketball coach but also a player in the Thoroughbred game. Got to exchange pleasantries with him in the Del Mar paddock before the 2016 Pacific Classic.
13. I have often said if heaven ain’t a lot like Del Mar…I don’t want to go!!!
14. Trainer Doug O’Neill has won the Kentucky Derby twice (2012,2016) and is a guy I am proud to call my friend!
15. Wise Dan is one of the all-time greats in racing period. I was lucky enough to see him put on some monster performances at Churchill Downs and at the Breeders Cup at Santa Anita.
16. Bob Baffert is the best at winning the big ones no doubt. Four time Kentucky Derby winner and more huge victories than a hillbilly can count makes him a hall of famer.
17. Churchill Downs is always a magical place, but the Kentucky Oaks and Derby days are even more special.
18. Carl Nafzger won the Kentucky Derby twice (1990, 2007) and more importantly…he knew me when I had hair!!!
19. Australian born Ian Wilkes is a fantastic horse trainer and great guy too. This one of me and my mate was taken at Keeneland in the paddock.
20. Dale Romans is the all-time leader in training wins at Churchill Downs. A Louisville native, Dale obviously does an excellent job and loves what he does.
21. Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas was all smiles after Take Charge Brandi won the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies at 60 to 1
