The one digit math tells us a win in the Sham Stakes at Santa Anita on January 10 has Calculator in the fast lane on the road to Kentucky Derby 141. Covering the mile distance in a swift 1:34.88, this great grandson of 1990 Derby winner Unbridled was rather impressive in picking up the first win of his career. Easily outdistancing the competition with a strong stretch run, the Peter Miller trained colt has now started a total of five times in his career. After two runner-up finishes to the highly regarded American Pharoah, Calculator formulated a win and will continue to run on the west coast with perhaps the San Felipe in his future (March 7).
