Future stars Friday at the Breeders’ Cup gives us a glimpse of things to come… we think. Some of these promising two-year-olds go on to great things while others don’t quite pan out. So who was perhaps the most impressive of the five winners on November 3?

The boys normally get more of the notoriety in this game and Fierceness was exactly that in the Juvenile as he won by 6 ¼ lengths. Perhaps more impressive was Just FYI, the Juvenile Fillies winner.

Trained by Bill Mott, this daughter of Justify is now unbeaten in three career starts. Chasing the highly regarded Tamara through a swift opening quarter mile (22.47), Just FYI maintained her position in second as the pace softened. At the top of the stretch, jockey Junior Alvarado hit the gas pedal and this fabulous filly responded with a commanding move. With the wire in sight, she simply had to hold on, and that she did. Covering the mile and a sixteenth in 1:44.58, this now two-time grade 1 winner earned her blanket of flowers.

As the road to the 2024 Kentucky Oaks unfolds who will be one of the top fillies…Just FYI .
