The road that leads to the first Friday and Saturday in May has a few new travelers merging onto the highway that leads to immortality. Stronger Than Ever put herself on the Kentucky Oaks trail with a gutty win in the Silverbulletday Stakes at the Fairgrounds in Louisiana. Going off at 33 to 1 for trainer Kenny McPeek, this daughter of Congrats ran hard through the wire and won by a neck over favored Wonder Gadot. McPeek credits jockey Florent Geroux for his patience as they covered the mile and 70 yards in 1:44.28. On the same card west coast shipper Instilled Regard put on a show in winning the LeComte for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. At Aqueduct Firenze Fire caught front running Seven Trumpets at the wire in the one mile Jerome Stakes. Both horses looked full of promise and should continue traveling towards the twin spires.
